Winter Storage Advice

Yes, it was -1 this am and it is almost that time of the year in Canada again. I have a couple of questions that, perhaps, someone would be kind enough to respond to:

1. I ride an 06 vfr 800 and the cylinders are very difficult to get at. How important is it to spray oil in the cylinders before storage? Am I okay with spraying fogger in the carbs before instead?

2. Yes, another oil question. Is it better to change the oil before storage or after and why? I have read opposing arguments for both cases.
