Default Scorpion EXO 1000

Does anyone have the Scorpion EXO 1000 helmet? Any feedback on it? I currently have an EXO 400 and really like the Scorpion brand. I'm thinking about getting another helmet and really like some of the features that EXO 1000 offers. Plus, it's priced very reasonable when compared to the Arai's, Shoei's, etc.

The number of helmets physically on display at my local dealers is shameful.

Hello! A friend of mine has switched from Shoei to Scorpion, has the EXO700.
The helmet has a lot of great features, fogproof, easy-change shields, etc. Good price, too. He says the only negative is the helmet is a lot noisier than the Shoeis, but not a deal-breaker as he uses earplugs anyway.
Me--I'll stay with my Shoeis and Nolan flip.

i've got an exo-400, and I love it, so i'm a scorpion fan as well.

All the reviews I've read about the exo-1000 focus on how rediculusly heavy it is. It also doesn't seem to be a bargain like the 400 and 700 are....I think the 1000 is upwards of $300 isn't it? Not exactly chump change when my 400 was only $120.

I haven't actually seen one, but i've read lots of reviews about them. A quick google search should find some great info.

I picked up a EXO 1000 March 2008. I like it it quite a bit. Fog free above about 10 mph, comfy, fairly quiet. Nice snug fit with the air bladder system. Shield swapping is easy, but I only take off the shield for cleaning because the inner tinted shield is wonderful. Love being able to ride with a clear shield and use the tinted inner shield in lieu of sunglasses. Price was very friendly.
It's not the best ventilated lid, but good adequate. Also not the lightest lid in the world, but doesn't cause me fatigue (but I typically don't do long rides). Chin strap took me some getting used to. I read reviews where testers complained about the inner shield being visually annoying, which concerned me, but I got used to it after a handful of miles. Visibility doesn't seem to be on par with the Shoei I had previously which is the biggest downside, but visibility is still good.

A bit late for this review, but....

I have the exo 1000, and love it! Then again, I've never had a Shoe, and upgraded from a $150 bargain solid helmet. Having the pump feature is great for getting the helmet off and on. It's also amazing how you can get a comfy fit(not trying to find a helmet as snug as you can tolerate, and just give it a few pumps and it snugs down on your head while cruising at 70+(since it lifts up a bit at speed). I don't think the weight is an issue, especially since it lifts at speed.

The inner sun visor is great! And I like the little quick release that props the shield open for more venting while stuck at a signal, but it takes a bit of getting used to since it also locks the visor if you turn it the other way too far(I locked mine and had to find the knob again to unlock it after trying to flick it open and it not moving, feeling a bit uncoordinated).

The only two things I don't like about it is the shield's upward motion is a bit heavy and you usually pop the snap on the chin skirt getting the helmet on. You have to lift so hard the helmet actually will shift a bit just opening the visor, but that might be because I have a large, football shaped head and have to go a tad large or my forhead really digs into the solid foam on the inside of the helmet(part of the reason I really like the air filled chin feature so much).

-edit- After going on a long ride today, I do agree, the helmet is pretty loud. My stock R1 is pretty quiet compared to the helmet noise when I'm cruising freeway speeds.
