Default Problems with my Hyosung Aquila 650

Hi,

My GV650 sometimes cuts out when slowing down. Sometimes starts when in gear but sometimes struggles to turn over and won't start when in gear. Sometimes it doesn't start at all.

Anyone got any ideas about what might be wrong? Any advice is my appreciated.

Cheers,

Liam,

I suspect there's nothing wrong with your Hyosung that a quick trip to your dealer wont fix.
If memory serves me correctly this is nothing more than a "trade in indicator"
It's kind of like a warning light or a check engine light would be on a car, but it's letting you
know it's time to trade in, and replace.

Tighten up the battery cables. If not, have the shop look at it.

I think your main problem is that you bought a Hyosung.

They seem to have shot themselves in the foot with poor quality. It's going to take a long time before they convince people they're not cut-rate junk. Of course, the first step is not to produce cut-rate junk in the first place . . .

Liam,
All slams to Hyosung aside, Starting hard when it's in gear sounds like the clutch adjustment. Check to see if it lunges or hits hard when you pop it in gear. If it's dragging, adjust it to fully realese.
Stalling when slowing down could be fuel or electrical. Is your idle speed way too slow? What does it do exactly? If it's fuel, it most likely will not pick up right away until the float bowl is full again. If it's electrical, get it idling and start tugging on the wire harness. Beyond that, your on your own. I have several years of fighting with Royal Painfields and tracking down obscure problems due to POS components. it's a fact of life with third world bikes.

You maybe should have bought a used Honda or Yamaha or...You get the picture.

Could easily be a fuel problem too...
You might have some water in the carbs or tank...
Get a can of Seafoam, from the auto store...

The bottom of each carb should have a screw, which you can open up
and drain a couple tablespoons of fuel/water out of each carb...

Oh don't forget about the folks oversea that supplies parts for the sporty. The American salesman that sold him the Hyosung bike didn't get a single penny out of the transaction and all the taxes and fees goes back to Korea....NOT!

Motorcycle reliability is based on these 3 principles; ... maintenance, maintenance, and maintenance.
