Default Chain Mail

OK, while doing the oil change the other day I noticed that the chain was pretty skuzzy looking. In the last few years I've used never dull, rags and a lot of time to get everything clean. I had some green stuff that came with a grunge brush that didn't seem to do squat. Before that I used WD 40 and a rag....

So what do you guys use to clean your chains?

S3, when I clean my chain--not a frequent event, I'm more into lubing--I use Acra-solve, 3M Adhesive Remover, or CRC Brake Cleaner on clean shop towels. I don't want to soak the o-rings that hold the lube inside the rollers, just take off the grit that stays on the side plates.
I have also used(dont laugh) Charcoal Lighter Fluid and kerosene. Key thing--dont damage those o-rings.
I initially use shop towels for the big stuff, finish cleaning with old toothbrushes.

I use a grundge brush and WD-40. Then I lube it back up with Chain Wax. Then after a weekend ride before I go in the house I lube it while the chain is warm after the ride.

That brings back a memory from the past. I used to soak chains in a pan of gear oil after washing my dirtbikes. This was before O-ring chains. Never had a clue if it helped but I always did it.

I'm with Archer on this one. This sounds like and elaborate and late April Fools Day thing.

I think the local dealer still soaks chains in 90w. I took my FZ in for recall work and when I got it back the chain, rear wheel and swing arm were frakkin coated in the stuff. I never have been able to get all of it off the rear wheel.
