Default Oil change/routine maintenance

We'll be going this weekend to the Triumph dealer to see the new offerings.
How's the routine maintenance on the new Triumphs? Normal spin on oil filters, etc?
Wife and I will check them over real good when there. One thing she really likes from the pictures is the large flat seat.

Large flat seats are generally for, well, .......large flat seats.

As a fan of triumph and former T-100 owner, i dont care for this model. I am actually disappointed across the entire Bonnie line this year.

The paint schemes are horrible imho. This particular model is a gaudy patchwork of over emphasized "classic" styling ques that never were. Its just boxy and piecemealed, not at the sleak looking true Classic Bonneville that Triumph was famous for. At over ten grand for a 110 anniversary sticker? No thanks!

The "McQueen" bike is a total fraud. The variuos different Bonnevilles i cant really say thrill me allthought they may be perfect for some folks. One has nicer pipes and some have nicer seats than the T-100. My issue is the ugly flat seat and more importantly the poor colors available. Harley played out this flat paint theme 5 years ago, and Triumph is just pushng it now? The Scrambler is horrible in flat. Even the fancier T-100 2 tones are not painted to match the shape of the gas tanks nicely.

Look for, if possible, a left over 2011. They had the scallop tank graphics on the T-100 still, and are pretty bikes.

One more word on the seating. My 2005 T-100 had a nicely integrated stock seat. I beleive the standard Bonnie still comes with it. It was very uncomfy at first, eventually broke in a bit and wasnt so bad. My wife never complained about it. But 6 or 7 years ago she never complained much about anything. Fast foward and she wouldnt fit as nice and tight as she did in 2005 anyway. The moral of the story, buy the bike you like, and give wifey a Corbin (or whichever) seat catalogue.

Now I am not saying Meriden Triumphs are better bikes than Hinkley modern machines. Obviously the are not
But its just as obvious they are a much prettier motorcycle. My thinking is that for the extra $1500 premium they are charging for the 110 , they would be best off commemorating what was sweet about the original and give us a motorcyle with cleaner lines. Do away with the japbike looking tank seams, "Moto Guzzi" turn signals and give us the nicer header bend and better integrated seat they offer on other Bonnie models.

I like the color scheme on this one...

The side panels look a lot better when they're not color keyed to the tank.

I like it, a lot. So far I've liked all the Bonneville variants, especially the Thruxton, but they all look good to me and I really like a flat seat. I like the Steve McQueen, this Anniversary model, the military one that H.E. posted a pic of, the scrambler, etc.

One of the nice things about the Bonnie is that it is a versatile motorcycle (much like the original Bonnie) that just looks good. And to top it off, Fid rides one which makes it even more attractive.

If they gave me one, I wouldn't kick it out of bed! It would probably become my daily ride.

Triumph is quickly becoming my favorite motorcycle company because they build good machines that appeal to me and they follow their own path.
