Jeff had it at the NC Guzzi gathering in August: Bosch bits replaced with Lucas?

Seriously, what a creative bike. You know the owner, Fred?

Yep. Jeff Gundlach built it. It has CB350 wheels, a Norton trans and clutch, and an Ambassador motor. He had to jump through some hoops to get it titled and registered:

That name sounds awfully familiar. I seem to recall a series of illustrations in Cycle Magazine sometime in the late-70's that featured fantastical renditions of motorcycles of the British Empire. It was a really good parody of the waning English motorcycle industry. Could this be the same Jeff Gundlach who did those colorful illustrations?

I believe that is he:

That's Jeff in the shades in the second photo above.

Jeff Gundlach's handiwork actually exceeds the eccentricities of his imagination.

Honda did the same thing over 30 years ago to make their first V-twin flattracker. It's hard
to tell, but this is actually a turned around CX500 engine.

Hey Fred!

Jeff's websight > RAVEN MOTORCYCLES

More pictures of the bike and if you click on "gallery" there's a bunch of the build in progress.

Yep. I posted the pipeburn link because it referenced the early magazine covers Jeff did.

I hope to see the single on the road sometime.
