This Gasser is the most modern trials bike I've ridden, by far the most capable.
old stuff I really like my TY250 and I have an Alpina that works reasonably well, truthfully any good trials bike is better than my ability so I'll say that Trials Bikes are my favorite style motorcycles

I've got mine that my dad bought new for me in '73. Found it in the back of a local Enfield dealership and bought it back some 30 years later...Not as much fun as I remember even though it's got a Poweroll 167cc conversion. I keep it for sentimental reasons. I plan on stroking it more to as close as I can get to 200cc and playing with cams/timing/carberation. The steering geometry is bad too and needs way less steering head offset so it wont fall into turns so forcefully. I saw a Sammy Miller article about fixing the handling problem and learned a bunch about setting up a good handling bike. They need some good shocks and you can go up to 1 inch longer but then you have to fix the front to compensate. Some new triples that have the right offset and then are offset down to increase the ground clearance could kill two birds! The thing needs a good set of Betor forks too. The list is long and painful with these tame little Honda's.
I have a 321 Gas Gas and a TY350. The 321 is maybe too modern for my skills and the TY350 feels like a total boat anchor compared to the 321. I considered chasing some trials events and tried one last year (on the TY) but the sport has left me out as being too physical in anything above the novice level...Yea, I can still do some tricks and have plenty of fun but some of the sections at local events could put me in the hospital if I'd have to bail out at a bad moment! I play on a large rock pile at my ranch that I stacked just for riding over...The 321 makes it easy, the Yamaha requires more skill and planing to pick my way across the rocks. Havent attempted it on the TL...Not enough oompf! Observed Trials always felt like a game of golf to me and considering its origins, it makes perfect sense. If I could get real thin and bone healthy again, I'd be competing and enjoying what had been my favorite sport for some time to come. Keep yer feet up! Wiz.
