$600 for the motor and front wheel would be fair. $100 to haul away the rest.

Hey, that's an un-bolt hard tail, un-raked frame, with good lower forks.
I have an original rear clip and a set of standard fork tubes. A nice seat & tank, and it's a T100 again...

That brings back some memories. Looks like the bikes some of my riding buddies had back in the early 70's, less the instruments. Are the fork springs held in place by chrome sleeves with set screws? That's what a lot of us used to locate the exterior fork springs properly...that, or stock spring cups spaced with chrome plumbing tubing...

it also has all the tabs i am familiar with. the rear section was fairly good quality, but maybe a couple of inches stretched longer than i would have liked. the tank had no rust. most likely a wassel peanut, which i wanted. the shakers were in better shape than he ones i am going to uise on my tr6. so if you add it up, there is close to 500 bucks worth of chopper parts if you had to buy them. basicly, cutting a few inches out of the forks and going with a 18 inch rear wheel and a bates type seat would be what i would do. "chops" rule!!!! i went to reading pa yesterday and a pal gave me a stock complete T100 frame. it has the swing arm with no shocks, so maybe i will keep that and dig out a short set of shocks i have stashed. i still would like to get a peanut tank. the problem is mounting it. i am wondering if one can be had witha low enuff tunnel to be modified to fit the stock frame mounts. at least the front ones.

one of the reasons i like the 500, is the motor looks more old fashion than the unit 650's.

Yes, that was another option I'd forgotten about. We didn't generally use them because we thought they ruined the lines of the extended forks.

actually, they do mess the lines. you are right, but i would trust the tweekbars pinch bolts over some set screws.

Right below where the kickstarter enters the case - the overspray on the hose, that is a red flag to me.
The missing oil cap is also a concern, your offer seems fair after looking the bike over carefully - Unless I could hear it run and ride it, I'd possibly pay the twelve hun, but riding without a footpeg had never need that enjoyable for me - makes shifting fun, especially with the right foot. |
