I know what you mean length of time means nothing the only thing is that age of the body has impact. I have trouble with my right knee, even after the operation. Seems like everyone after 35 has some arthritis and it just gets worse.
I try not to let it get me but it does cramp and I need to stretch it, wish I could put some highway pegs on my Sprint but alas no go. Tomorrow I am riding to meet up with some friends for lunch 138 miles each way, I will be sore but it should be worth it. Have to get back home in time to see the Moto GP.
Take care

Hello! Hope your leg is all better concerning the last time we spoke last year.
You raised an interesting question about age and riding. O am 56+, been riding for 29 years.
But I have(HAD) a friend who is 65, brags about riding for 50 years. Has a Bandit1250S, but it might as well be a ZX10 Ninja considering his size and lack of comfort. He also has a BMW K1200GT, tremendous sport-touring speedbike, but again, he cant ride it long distance. So now..he tries to change the rides so he can go 20 miles to a restauarant, eat, and call it a day. And to top it off, when he didnt get his way the last time, he took off without a word. So--in his case, age 65 and 50 years of riding dont mean **** to me and our riding friends.
Quality riding time, enjoying the machine, road, and friends is what it's all about. Reminiscing about past road glories means nothing if you cant put the rubber to the road.
I enjoy your posts!!
