I recently changed my back tire to a Micheilin Sport. I am going to have to change the front in another few weeks. A friend said I should go with the Power Pilot for a sticker front tire. My question is should I mix and match tires like this. Will it cause any handling problems? I would just as soon put the sport on the front of the bike too. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Also I am commuting about 1600 to 1700 miles a month on the bike. If this helps.

<div> Hey Billy! My personal preference is to use a matched set. No need to experiment, that's what engineers get paid for,</div><div> Are you now experiencing front-end sliding? Are there any mechanical isues and/or adjustments that need to be done to the suspension?</div><div> You can play the &quot;Stickiest Tire Game&quot; untill you have artgum erasure tires that last 1000 miles. But why? Peer pressure? Ego games?</div><div> Put on a matched set as recommended by the tire manufacturer and just ride.</div>

Yep I am aiming that way. I like the way the Sport feels. I have noticed some cupping on the front tire. I usually check the tire pressures every other day or so. I figure I may get 8000 miles out of the front tire. It looks like I am going to hit the 10 k mark around July on the bike. ;)

<div>If you are commuting that many miles maybe you should check out some of the Sport Touring Tires?</div><div> </div><div>If you like Michellin thay have the Pilot Roads</div>

<div>My 599 came stock with the Pilot Roads, and they seem to stick well enough for my streetriding. Fine for the road, but not what you'd want on a track I'd say.</div>

I would not mix match tires! Different tires is bad idea do to the operating temp will be different and they will not ride with same trad petter and that can get ugly!<br><div></div>

<div>Vstarman is pretty much right. As long as the two tires are of the same type, design, intended use(sport, touring, etc.), there's nothing wrong with mixing brands. It's done all the time, I do it all the time. Last set of mixed brand tires on my Busa handled and behaved worlds ahead of the stock matched Bridgestones ever did, and any tire misbehavior is obvious on a Busa.</div>

<div>Michelin's web site compares their tyres: <a href="http://two-wheels.michelin.com/" target="_blank">http://two-wheels.michelin.com/</a> I replaced my rear 6 months ago with a Pilot Road for wear. The front has lasted twice as long so I'm going with a Pilot Power 2CT for more stick. Michelin discontinues and upgrades tires all the time. Front and rear tyres have different functions.</div>
