does anyone know if Guzzi or BMW are working on a slipper clutch? The little I know about a slipper clutch is that it helps with hard downshifts and keeping the rear wheel from hopping.
A slipper clutch seems like it would be beneficial to shaft drive sportbikes/sport tourers, too, but I haven't read anything about BMW or Guzzi implementing this into their gearboxes.
The 1990 shaft driven Suzuki VX800 had a slipper clutch. They called it a "Back Torque Limiting" clutch. It was somewhat successfull, but you could still break the rear loose if you dounshifted at sufficiently high rpm. I liked it.

...and it meant I couldn't push start my '91 VX800.
