You guys have serious customer service problems, its almost designed to piss people off by being irritatingly non-responsive and moronic. I appreciate that $14 is a great deal, but its no longer a great deal because of all teh time I've spent trying to ram it through your customer service. At my hourly rate, this subscription is now costing over $300.

Here's the email I just sent:

Are you guys deliberately difficult? This is about the 4th email I've sent and keep getting the same form reply. Let me start over:

1. I do not have an account, a subscription a mailing label or anything like that.
2. I subscribed to Cycle World for myself and 2 other gift subscriptions at the beginning of December by sending in a check and address information for the 3 subscribers.
3. I am once again attaching a copy of the check I sent, which was cashed by your bank on December 4.
4. Please activate my subscription or just send my money back.
5. Please do not send another email asking for account numbers or address information as it appears on the mailing label. There is NONE.

....jumpin jimminy, still no response. I tried to add 3 bikers to the circulation; bikers that your subscribers would love-- we own 13 bikes and no cars between us, but we can't get our subscriptions.

I've now gotten my 5th completely nonresponsive response:

Cycle World: As per your inquiry we would like to inform you that we do not show any subscription on file as of yet.

Me: Duh, that's what I've said 4 times. I was hoping you'd do soemthing about it.

Cycle World: Please wait for the processing time for 2-4 weeks for the order to hit on file. Please contact us if our records are in correct.

Me: I've mentioned four times that the check was cashed on December 2. That means its been 8 weeks.

Cycle World: Haha, you are a total idiot. We got your money and we're not giving you a magazine, so just shut up. You don't get the hint? We'll respond to everyone of your emails with nonsensical moronic form emails until you're totally irritated and go subscribe to some other magazine. Now go away. (I'm reading between the lines).

Me: (Actual email I sent): I subscribed over 8 weeks ago and Cycle World cashed my check. Please refund the check and forget the subscription. I have attached a copy of the check. Please send a refund.

Good grief. I've forwarded your first message to the powers that be a while ago... and still no resolution?

Calvin-

Thanks for doing that. I got a message about 1/2 hour ago from an admin assistant who said I might get it by the May issue. We'll see, although I do appreciate your stepping into this.

Bogomil, I don't know about when you're account is available to customer service, but depending on when you request a subscription it could be a couple months at least before you get your first issue.

Still kinds sounds like you're getting jerked around. Nice to know the CW staffers on working to help.

but depending on when you request a subscription it could be a couple months at least before you get your first issue.

Yeah, that's what CW told me in an email, which is fine and understandable. I've been buying it off the rack for a while, so its no problem. The problem was that customer service center that CW farms out inquiries to. Those guys don't even read your email they just spit back nonsensical form emails that don't even acknowledge what you're requesting. Just for example, I told them I subscribed in December and this week I got an email basically saying, "It takes 2-3 weeks from when you order so just sit tight"-- first I told them that I subscribed 2 months ago, so they clearly ignored my email and, second, everyone at CW told me it takes 2 months, not 3 weeks. You do not want to raise customer expectations to a degree that you cannot deliver. CW ought to demand a discount based on experiences like mine, because they are not getting their money's worth.

Anyway, I've got a lot more confidence now that CW Central Command is making inquiries. Sorry if I sounded pissy.
